Balloon Animals How

Although initially the fodder for children’s birthday parties, balloon animals are now popular inexpensive party favors, and can be found at adult soirees as well. Obviously, if you have the time, it’s cheaper to learn how to form these creations yourself. If that’s not an option, then there are many balloon artists available for hire, usually at reasonable rates.

Few balloon artists rely solely on lung power to inflate their balloons. Usually, a special pump for this purpose is used, thus minimizing the introduction of moisture. The preferred balloons are longer than they are wide, thus facilitating the development of a line of several bubbles, which are separated by locks, commonly known as “twists.” As a matter of fact, balloon artists are known in some circles as “twisters.”

This technique is the foundation of all balloon animal creations. Those advanced balloon artists are able to combine bubbles on top of each other, to achieve whatever shape they desire. Other techniques include the ability to manipulate the bubbles from the front to the back of the creation, without untying the twists or bursting the bubbles.

The watchword for this or any other art form is practice. With time, any reasonably dexterous person can become quite adept at making different basic animals. Due to the relative minimal expense, these creations are being used for party centerpieces and mobiles. In fact, the adult demand for balloon animals and/or balloon artists may soon eclipse their traditional “birthday party” popularity.
