Animals Balloons

“I’ll do (whatever) when pigs fly!” This is a popular saying that basically means that the precipitating event will never happen. But in the world of animal balloons, pigs do fly, along with anything else suspended in a mobile form. The versatility of animal balloons has few limits, as they can be held or hung in just about any configuration.

Likewise, the choice of figures is limited only by the amount of bubble forms, twists and locking techniques mastered by the balloon artist in question. There is the ubiquitous poodle, the giraffe, various insects, famous figures (i.e. characters from Milne’s Winnie the Pooh series, Elmo from “Sesame Street,” Spongebob Squarepants), and with extra effort, even likenesses of famous people.

Wearable balloon art items include tiaras and various hats. Some persons choose to save money and construct centerpieces made of “fresh” balloon flowers. With patient practice, you can construct the image of just about any formed item. Just remember to use a balloon pump for inflation, which is far safer method than manually blowing air into the balloon. Get used to the squeaky sounds you will no doubt make during balloon art construction, as they are unavoidable. Some balloon artists prefer to sculpt their figures while wearing gloves, to minimize the transference of perspiration or body oils to the balloon figures.

Think about it. When is the last time you’ve had this much fun entertaining others for such a low cost? After all of these years, this skill is still in great demand.
