Balloon Animals Flower
Many years ago, we started seeing balloons shaped as animals at restaurants and birthday parties. Balloon animal artists are now regularly scheduled performers at several local eateries, and we actually feel cheated if we leave a child’s birthday party without a balloon animal. Now, this inexpensive form of sculpture is challenging the floral industry. Let’s face it—flowers are not cheap. For the same amount of money spent at the florist, a talented balloon artist can construct several bouquets of identifiable flowers for you and your guests.
Although it has not been publicized, surely the bridal industry has taken note of this alternative and is reacting accordingly. Of course, flowers are, well, flowers, complete with wonderful flashes of color and amazing scents. Balloons do not carry scent as well, nor do they provide the same tactile opportunities as rose petals. However, the money saved can be phenomenal and your guests can take home balloons instead of matchbooks.
If you are leaning toward this idea of making the substitution of balloon animals and/or balloon flowers, instead of living floral arrangements, consider that while the change is a great frugal move, it immediately adds a huge dose of whimsy to your most important day. In other words, would you like a clown or toys in your wedding photos? Today’s balloon art techniques are truly amazing; however consider what you’ll think of that photo of you and your groom holding balloons in 10 years. If you can laugh at it and yourselves, then by all means, go for it!
